I shared my original top 5 nude lipsticks well over a year ago — which you can read HERE — and because nudes are my favorite shade to wear…it’s about time I update you all on my current top 5. I was kind of surprised when I realized that the nude lipsticks I reach for the most aren’t any of the ones I used to reach for.
My Top 5 Nude Lipsticks
These won’t be in any particular order, I love them all equally. Well…except for Melted Chihuahua. I think I like that one a bit more. As in, my top favorite ever. What’s your number one nude lipstick you couldn’t live without? Let me know in the comments when you get to the end of the post! For now…let’s dive into the first shade!
This is the newest addition to my collection, but within days of initially trying it out on my lips…it became a favorite. It is the perfect true-nude for me — not to pinky, and not too nude. It really compliments and becomes my complexion. The formula is fabulous as well. I do plan to post a review on Mellow Cosmetics’ lipsticks and liquid lipsticks sometime this month. Once it’s live I will come back and update this post! But just so you know…I think the lipsticks are amazing!
I originally did a swatch post featuring all of the new shades Too Faced added to their La Creme line, and this was one of them. Ever since then, I keep reaching for this color. It’s such a moisturizing formula, it glides on so easily, and I find that it is really flattering for my skintone.
Oh, Melted Chihuahua. How I love you! Ever since it came into my life over a year ago, it hasn’t left my side! Okay, okay, I know that’s a bit dramatic…but it’s all true! I use this baby all the time when I don’t want to think of my lip color, want something that’s not high-maintenance, or just want something that’s comfortable. This is the lipstick that I always keep in my purse just in case I forget to put on a lipstick before leaving the house, or for touchups on the go.
I recently did a Dupe or Dud post featuring this shade with a drugstore version from Maybelline. Definitely check that post out if you are curious about trying the formula before shelling out $21.
The tube I have is from a limited edition holiday collection that came out last Christmas, but this is actually a permanent shade, which is why I included it in this post. It’s a really awesome matte shade that has amazing lasting power for a non-liquid-lipstick-formula. This one can show lines or flakies on the lips if they’re dry, so it’s definitely only a nude I will wear when my lips are plump and well moisturized.
Last, but most definitely not least, is this favorite from Rimmel London. I went on a Rimmel-buying-spree a year or so ago when they all went on sale for less than $3 per tube. Perfect time to try out some new lipsticks, am I right?! I purchase 4 or 5 tubes, but this one has shined the most for me because…well, because it’s NUDE! It is right there beside the Mellow Cosmetics lipstick in being a very nude lipstick, but this one is more glossy and moisturizing than that one. I still reach for this shade frequently, and at just until $6 retail price…it’s an awesome, affordable choice if you want to try a true-nude lipstick!
There you have it — my top 5 nude lipsticks that I reach for regularly. I honestly can’t see many of these favorites changing anytime soon…but you never know, right?! What are some of your top favorite nudes? I know it’s hard to just pick 1 (obviously…I shared 5, lol) but if you can just pick your number one, which would it be? Why?
Any questions about my disclosure, read here. Thank you for your support!
