Moisturizers can be SUCH a struggle when you have oily, acne-prone skin because most leave you looking like a grease ball within a few hours and it just doesn’t feel that nice. So I’ve always been on the hunt for a good moisturizer that can give my skin the benefits and hydration that it needs…but without causing me to look like I went on a 4 mile run. And I’ve finally found exactly that in Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer! Let’s talk about why… 🙂

Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream REVIEW
What’s In this Cream?
According to Peter Thomas Roth, this is supposed to… “Drench your skin with a liquid cloud of moisture drawn from the atmosphere. This concentrated 30% Hyaluronic Acid Complex cream provides up to 72 hours of hydration—even after cleansing. Three molecular sizes of Hyaluronic Acid, a potent hydrator that constantly attracts and retains up to 1,000 times its weight in water from moisture in the atmosphere, helps replenish skin to make it appear more supple, full and smooth”.
This moisturizer also contains ceramides to help keep the moisture in your skin while a “ProHyal+” ingredient helps to improve the hydration for even more beautiful skin. It also has elderberry in it which is rich in antioxidants. And along with helping with hydration, this moisturizer is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leave your skin feeling silky, hydrated and more youthful-looking. It’s also oil-free, alcohol-free, and fragrance-free — all BIG pluses for me and my skin needs!
How does it apply/feel?
When you initially touch the Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream it feels chilly — and not just the typical kind of coolness when you dip into a moisturizer, it really does feel COLD! It has a degree of thickness to it, but overall it’s a pretty light/thin consistency for a moisturizer. The real magic happens when you start to massage it into your skin — it almost instantly turns to a water-type consistency. And it has that coolness to it, too, causing an instant, relaxing reaction as it starts to soak in.
Does it Soak in Quickly?
Yes! So very quickly! As I said, it feels like water on your skin as you begin to massage it in — kinda reminds me of the consistency of a lot of serum’s I’ve tried in the past — and because it is so light a little bit goes a VERY long way and it soaks in FAST! Faster than most other moisturizers that I’ve tried — I’ve never timed it, but I feel like within a minute or so, I can touch my skin and it’s not wet anymore.
How does my skin feel in the morning?
So good! And even before that — immediately after applying it soaks in and drys completely so you don’t feel like you have anything on your skin. No sticky residue! And the next day it still feels as “normal” and plump as the day before! Having oily skin, I feel like most moisturizers will feel thick on my skin at night and then the next morning I look like a shiney grease ball…but not with this Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Moisturizer! I look and feel amazing normal and healthy — and I love it!
Will I repurchase?
Yes! In fact, I already have! Peter Thomas Roth originally sent me this moisturizer about a year ago and I loved it so much…I picked it up from Ulta Beauty a few months ago and currently have it in my skincare routine (see video below!). They sent me another moisturizer, which inspired this review, but as you can see from the picture above…I’m nearly out of this lovely cream and I am SO glad to know I have a backup ready!
I am always the type to try new things — I have a beauty blog and Youtube channel because I enjoy trying out new products — but I have no doubt that I will continue to repurchase this stuff from time to time because it’s such a joy to apply, makes my skin look amazing the next day, and is just all around a solid product!
SIDE NOTE: If you’re curious what else I use in my skincare routine as an oily, acne-prone girl — check out this video I just recently shared! I mention my love for the Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream, as well as the other products that I enjoy in the different steps of my nightly skincare routine!
If you can’t already tell, I love this stuff! It’s expensive, yes, but it gives me such beautiful results with my skin I find it worth it — especially if I can wait and get it on sale! Which you guys know is always my recommendation — Ulta Beauty occasionally has 20% off coupons that qualify on prestige products! I can’t say much to the anti-aging abilities of this moisturizer since I don’t have very obvious signs of fine lines, but it feels good knowing this product has that anti-aging benefits to it! You can’t start using anti-aging products too early
Have you tried the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Mositurizer?? I would love to hear how it worked for you! Or if you are interested in trying it, let me know that, too!
