Glo Minerals continues to impress me with their new products, and I wanted to create date night makeup look (perfect for Valentine’s Day!) using all of the Glo Minerals products that I currently have in my collection. Bonus: I’ve created a video tutorial for this post so if you don’t have time to read about all the products, just skip down to the end to watch!
Date Night Makeup with Glo Minerals
CoverFX Custom Blot Drops | $42
I don’t have a primer from Glo Minerals, so I reached for this one that I’ve been testing out recently. I’ve been having a hard time deciding if it was worth the steep pricetag — I don’t really notice a difference with my making staying oil free any longer than my other primers… :-/
Glo Minerals Luxe Liquid Foundation | $56 (Available on Amazon for $35)
This foundation is really nice. It’s in a foggy-glass bottle with a pump (I love a pump!) and just feels so highend. The consistency is a bit thick and it sets rather quickly, so I found it was best to work in sections when using this foundation. But I loved the coverage and lasting power, so it’s a win for me!
Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape | $24
Since I didn’t have any concealers from Glo Minerals, I reached for Shape Tape to conceal my dark circles. This concealer is very nice, there’s no doubt about it. I have to use a LOT less product than you see in the Youtube and Instagram tutorials, or else it’s crease city.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer | $28
Because the Tarte Shape Tape is so thick, I can’t use it for highlighting the face, so I grabbed for the Naked Skin concealer. I’ve been really loving the results I get using the Tarte and Urban Decay concealers as a duo team.
Glo Minerals Luxe Setting Powder in Translucent | $44
I decided not to bake for my date night look, but just lightly set my under eyes and dust my whole face with Glo Minerals loose setting powder. Once again, the packaging is fantastic — the sifter even rotates so that you can ‘close’ it and you don’t have to worry about loose powder continually coming out and making a mess. The texture reminds me of the loose Bye Bye Pores setting powder from IT Cosmetics.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer | $30
I don’t have a bronzer or contour product from Glo Minerals so I reached for my tried-and-true bronzer from Too Faced. Because it’s matte and pretty cool-toned on my skin, I like to use this as a contour to help define my cheekbones and bring back some depth into my face.
Glo Minerals Blush in Rosebud | $30 (On sale at Amazon for $19.70)
This blush is gorgeous, and just my type — it’s matte and that dusty mauve color that I am obsessed with. It’s not that big of a blush, so the price is kind of steep, all things considered. But I found it on Amazon for a lot cheaper, and the seller is from Glo Minerals so I would say snag it from there and save the difference. ๐
Glo Minerals Shimmer Duo in Candle | $32
This highlighter duo is stunning! Just wait until you see the tutorial at the end. Oh my goodness, that glow! Both side perform just as well and this is a fairly large compact, making it very much worth the pricetag. The fan brush pictured above is also from Glo Minerals, but it is a bit too thin to be my favorite fan brush. With that said, though, I still haven’t come across a highlighting brush that I like more than my Sigma F35 brush.
Glo Minerals Suede Matte Crayon | $18 (Available on Amazon for $14.82)
You know I love a good matte lip product, and these are right up there with the best! They glide on like a regular lipstick, but they are matte and gorgeous! They have a nice slip and moisturizing feel to them, making these very comfortable to wear on the lips for several hours. Bonus: they also have a built-in sharpener in the lid of the crayon. I love it! For the date night makeup look I created, I picked two different lipsticks out that you could rock, depending on your preference.
The first shade is vibrant and fun! Almost a neon-fuchsia-pink, this color is called Sorbet and is simply stunning! The wear time is typically for a matte lipstick — better than a regular glossy lipstick, but not as long lasting as a matte liquid lipstick.
Another lip option that is perfect for this date night makeup look is Demure. It’s that perfect mauve-nude shade that everyone likes and looks great on a variety of skintones. <3 In the end, though, I decided that I wanted a bold lip for my Valentine’s Day date night look, and went with Sorbet.
Tutorial & Completed Look
And here is the completed look! For the eyes I used the Smashbox Cover Shot Matte and Metals palettes, along with Glo Minerals liquid Ink liner. I thought it went with the lip color very nicely. ๐

Such beautiful cosmetics and a great giveaway. I’m going to share this on my Sunday Scoop article.
Aww, thank you for including it in your article! <3
I love Glo Minerals Products. I like a neutral look. I find it goes best with my new auburn hair
neutral looks are my go-to, too! They look good no matter what the occasion <3
I love sexy and smokey!
Yessss! Smokey!!! <3
I like a smokey eye & matte nude lip for date night. I will always love a bold red lip, but I think it’s a little too much when paired with an intense eye for date night.
True — If I want to go all-out for a special occasion I would rather do it on my eyes and keep the lips low-key ๐
I prefer a natural look for date night.
Natural is beautiful <3
I like to do nude lips with a smokey eye and heavy eyeliner.
A night out I always go with a smokey and steamy look, but less is more and now im over 40 the less i use the less you see fine lines ๐
I stick with neutral subtle makeup.
The matte lip crayons look adorable plus it’s aweosome that there is a sharpener included!
I prefer a natural look for date night.
I love bold lips and neutral natural eyes.
Smokey makeup for date nights is a must. My eyes are a little heavy lidded for a winged look, or for one I have found that works anyway.
I like natural or smoky look.
I like a dark smokey eye and deep color on my lip for date night.
sexy and smoky same as you but the sharp wing doesn’t work with older eyelids
Loving the blush especially!
Since I’m older I go with a subtle look with a bold lip.
I like a subtle eye and a bold lip.
I go subtle with a bold lip.
Demure is a beautiful shade!
I love dark and sexy! I usually wear natural tone eye shadows during the week so for a night out with hubby I love going more drastic! ๐
I like a neutral eye but a bold lip!
Smoky for sure! Thanks for the giveaway!
This looks is beautiful! I love the lip colour and I have just added the Candle Shimmer Duo to my wish list ๐ x
Great giveaway, cant enter as I’m an Aussie though. The matte lip crayons look great!
I love a matte lip and a colourful eye look.
Loving both looks you created Katie – that fuchsia crayon is especially gorgeous on you, and the formula sounds like my kinda thing xxx
Smokey for sure!!
Beautiful colors! I usually go for a neutral natural look.
I love smokey eyes and a bold, red lipstick
Great post! I love smokey eyes and pinky nude lips when going on date nights.
Great giveaway I like a smokey sexy eye for date night
Love the look! Especially love the lip colours ๐
I usually wear quite natural makeup daily, so for a date night I like to go bolder, usually sparkly eyes and darker lip color.
I like a smoky sultry look for a date night! Thanks for the chance!
Definitely love the smokey eye look with a touch more glitter and glitter blush and shiny lips
I love smokey eyes! But on date nights, I prefer having brown eyeshadow, matte brown/pink lipstick. Be simple and pretty ๐
I like to keep it pretty soft and simple most of the time but you can’t ever really go wrong with a smokey eye!
I love a sexy red lip…preferably one that doesn’t rub off while kissing!
I wish I could do a wing, but I’m good at it. I have hooded eyes and I can’t get it right, so I like a nice natural look, but sometimes I will do something fun depending on my mood.
I love a classic look – red lipstick and thick eyelashes!
I like a smoky eye and a nude lip
I’m bummed that I missed your snap chat story. I haven’t been keeping up with it lately. Anyway, my favorite look is to play up my lips, and only mascara, and eyeliner.
I like a bolder eye too and suttle on the lipstick…
Wings and bright lips!
I like a natural look!
i’m veery smokey too, but don’t like the sharp eyes
